We are Pilgrims

“Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca [Weeping], They make it a spring; . . . they go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion” (Psalm 84:5-6a, 7).

A History of Christian Missions: Book Review

Without America

Discipleship Defined and Described: Some Preliminary Thoughts

Most churches and Christians do not emphasize deep transformation by God through the Holy Spirit. They communicate the facts of the faith well enough, but fail to address the deep idols of the heart that make us vulnerable to besetting sins, addictions, and despair when real trouble comes.

Builders of the Chinese Church: Book Review

What can explain the explosion of Christianity in China, despite the apparently insurmountable obstacles of the Cultural Revolution and virtually insignificant number of believers in previous centuries? Builders of the Chinese Church answers this question by examining the lives of nine evangelical leaders: seven Western missionaries and two Chinese pastors.

What We Can Learn from Christian Entrepreneurism in China’s House Church: The Rise and Fall of Early Rain Reformed Presbyterian Church, by Li Ma

Though I cannot recommend that anyone purchase or read this book (see my Global China Center review for the reasons why), I do think that it contains some useful information and analysis.
