Keep On Praying!

Keep On Praying!

June 2, 2025

Dear Praying Friends:

“Jesus spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart” (Luke 18:1).

Note two things here: First, we should pray constantly. Paul agrees: “Pray without ceasing,” he wrote (1 Thessalonians 5:18; see also Ephesians 6:18; Philippians 4:1).

Second, we should not lose heart or get discouraged when God doesn’t answer our prayers immediately or in the way that we want.

“Delays” are common in God’s dealings with us. Think of Abraham, just to take one example.

So are apparent denials, as with Jesus in Gethsemane: God denied his first request, but granted his second one, enabling Jesus to do the Father’s will by drinking the cup (see Hebrews 5:7-9).

So, let us ask God for the supply of his Holy Spirit to enable us to come to him constantly throughout the day and to keep on coming, year after year, until his perfect will is done in and through us.

For your prayers (Pick two or three): Please ask God to

  • Move us all to come to him often with requests, thanks, confession, and praise.

  • Give our Board of Directors wisdom, harmony, and a spirit of prayer on Sunday afternoon.

  • Enable me to write more on Williams, Hebrews 6, and my autobiography, and use me to encourage those with whom I correspond and converse.

“The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous [by faith] and His ears are open to their cry” (Psalm 34:15).

Yours in the love of our prayer-hearing God,
Wright
