Seek The Lord

“Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His face evermore!” (Psalm 105:4).

Dear Praying Friends:

In the Chinese Sunday school class yesterday, I opened our discussion of John 1:34-51 with the question: “What do we need the most?”

The leader said, “To know God.” His wife said, “Hope,” to which another added, “Yes, people today do not have hope.”

Going through the various titles given to Jesus in that passage, we saw through John's writing how Jesus has been revealed to us as Son of God; Messiah; Lamb of God; Teacher (Prophet); Jesus of Nazareth; and King of Israel. Then we noted that Jesus alone as Prophet can enable us to know God; as Priest, he reconciles to God; and as King, he governs us and finally brings peace to a war-torn world.

We concluded that Jesus, as God made flesh, is what we need most. He is the one whose face and strength we must seek with all our might each day.

Thank you for praying last week. By God’s help, I made more progress on a review of a book about six missionaries to China, and I am close to completing the book on Lit-sen Chang (Zhang Lisheng). He also gave me some marvelous conversations.

Yours together in Jesus, our comprehensive Savior,
Wright
