Thanksgiving

“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy [lovingkindness, steadfast love] endures forever” (Psalm 107:1).

Dear Praying Friends:

Yesterday, our pastor said that one key to overcoming anger is to give thanks for the person who has offended us. As he explained, if we mull over all his faults and offenses against us, our anger will only deepen and turn into cold resentment. If, on the other hand, we think of the other’s good qualities, our anger will shrink.

The same goes for the hard things that God sends (or allows) into our lives. If we only complain, we will become increasingly dissatisfied with the Lord and our love toward him will grow cold, but if we thank him for all things, trusting in his essential goodness and love for us, grumbling will give way to gratitude and joy.

Thank you for praying last week. God enabled me to send my manuscript on Lit-sen Chang to Casey, my assistant in Germany, for a final editing of the Introduction before I look over the whole text and then send it back to her for posting on our Reaching Chinese Worldwide website.

I composed a brief biography of Charles Wilfrid Allan for the BDCC (https://www.bdcconline.net/en/stories/charles-wilfrid-allan).

“Oh, that people would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men" (Psalm 107:21).

Yours in his goodness and love,
Wright
