July 2026 Prayer Letter

Remembering His Many Benefits

July 2026

Dear Praying Friends:

As we enter the second half of the year, it’s good to review some of the ways that God has blessed us and our ministry in the past six months, usually through his people.

Dori continued to take care of me and to help Sarah with our grandson Blaise, with whom I also have enjoyed happy times. We were proud of him when he graduated from the school where he’s been since kindergarten. He will start fifth grade in another school in the fall.

Dori’s ministry centers on our church, where she loves singing in the choir and finds encouragement in their fellowship. Everyone loves to watch her as she pours forth praises with a full heart and a joyful face. She continued to lead a women’s Bible study. All the ladies expressed gratitude for their meetings and look forward to the fall with eager anticipation. She also pitched in to help set up for a large conference and VBS.

God has prospered our ministry to Chinese also.

Our church’s women’s Bible study, Monday night group, and Chinese Sunday school class warmly welcomed a friend whom we were hosting, and they quickly came to respect and love as a sister in Christ who also had valuable insights to share with us. She found the fellowship and worship profoundly refreshing after a spiritually dry 18 months. On Easter Sunday she was moved to tears as the entire congregation of more than 600 stood up to sing of our Risen Christ. “I’ve never worshiped with more than forty people at once before!” she exclaimed quietly.

I continued to lead the Chinese Sunday school class in our church, with Dori regularly providing most helpful comments. The fellowship has grown in depth and love.

With the Lord’s help, I completed a book on Lit-sen Chang (Zhang Lisheng), China's greatest theologian (https://www.reachingchineseworldwide.org/zhang-lisheng-lit-sen-chang); finished writing doctrinal and ethical notes on Hebrews (www.reachingchineseworldwide.org/truth-and-life-new-testament); and contributed stories to the Biographical Dictionary of Chinese Christianity and book reviews for a growing series in The Missionary Movement in China (www.reachingchineseworldwide.org/missionary-movement-literature).

As you know, I send out weekly prayer updates (tell me if you want to receive them). Each one also features a short devotional message on the Psalms. These messages have been collected over the past few years and consolidated into volumes, the most recent of which can be found here: https://www.reachingchineseworldwide.org/with-christ-in-times-of-trial-volume-3.

Through emails and phone calls I love to connect with Chinese and Western friends both here and overseas, CI Partners, and GCC Associates. I was extremely grateful for the fellowship and wise oversight of our Board of Directors during the meetings in February and June.

Finally, let me say that God keeps on blessing us through your prayers, fellowship, and gifts. May God richly reward you!

Yours in his pursuing love,
Wright
